Litigation Experience

Eric Kayira has handled a variety of intellectual property, commercial, and business cases including, business and contractual disputes, copyright infringement, copyright-joint authorship, trademark, unfair competition, property claims, product liability, insurance coverage disputes, insurance defense, and real estate related litigation; including both commercial and residential mortgage foreclosures. Mr. Kayira has experience handling cases from inception to trial in both state and federal courts.


Transactional Experience

Mr. Kayira is experienced in representing businesses in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, business formation and structuring, and general corporate matters. He has considerable expertise in negotiating merchandise licenses, commercial transactions, and Internet law (including Internet hosting, development, subscription, web-based license agreements, and Internet user terms and privacy policies). Additionally, Mr. Kayira frequently advises clients on their rights to license, own, use and protect proprietary technology and intellectual property, including celebrity rights of publicity and individual rights of privacy. 

More recently, Mr. Kayira has applied his experience and knowledge in counseling advertisers and other media clients on a variety of issues and transactions ranging from sponsorships, branded content agreements, media and celebrity placement agreements to matters related to strategic branded entertainment agreements. 

Well regarded in the entertainment industry, Mr. Kayira has experience representing multi-platinum recording artists, record producers, personal managers, publishing companies, songwriters and independent record companies regarding transactions and various legal and business issues within the entertainment industries. Additionally, Mr. Kayira handles broad transactions in film and television, including film financing as well as all forms of above and below the line agreements.
